Beginners 1

This level is designed for students who are studying Spanish for the first time. This once a week course will help you create a solid foundation in Spanish, providing the stepping stones of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and every-day usage. By the end of this course, students will be able to ask and answer simple questions and hold simple conversations in present tense.

Beginners 2

This level is designed for students who have completed beginner 1 once a week or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will continue to build their oral, written and listening skills while expanding their vocabulary and developing greater fluency. By the end of the course students will be able to communicate effectively in common situations of every-day life using the present tense and the immediate future tense.

Beginners 3

This level is designed for students who have completed beginners 2 once a week or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will concentrate on oral skills, as well as fluency and pronunciation. Questions with prepositions, connectors, Irregular verbs and the progressive present tense will be learned.

Intermediate Conversation

This course is tailored to those who already have a basic knowledge in the language, either from travelling or from previous studies, and would like an opportunity to practice their conversation skills and improve on what they already know. Using a more empirical approach, an instructor will facilitate situations that emulate real and casual conversations as if they were happening in a Spanish-speaking country.

Intermediate 1

This level is designed for students who have completed beginners 3 once a week or the equivalent according to our placement test. The emphasis of this course is to enhance the student’s ability to communicate by expanding their vocabulary and grammar knowledge. At the end of this course students will know most common irregular verbs in present tense and will also learn the simple past tense.

Intermediate 2

This level is designed for students who have completed intermediate 1 or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will keep developing their reading and writing skills. By the end of this course students will be familiar with the past tense of irregular verbs, and will also learn to use direct and indirect object pronouns to abbreviate phrases the way native speakers do.

Intermediate 3

This level is designed for students who have completed intermediate 2 or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will deepen their grammar understanding by learning reflexive verbs and pronouns, the imperfect past tense, and the perfect tense.

Advanced Conversation

This course is for students who already have a good level of fluidity in the language from extensive traveling and would like an opportunity to practice their conversation skills and improve on what they already know. Students will discuss on different topics ranging from cultural events, Latin American politics, news articles, sports, health, science, art, traveling, and other themes presented by a facilitator.

Advanced 1

This level is designed for students who have completed intermediate 3 or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will keep on expanding their vocabulary while learning the future tense of regular and irregular verbs. They will also learn the conditional tense as well as the use of more complex connectors.

Advanced 2

This level is designed for students who have completed Advanced 1 or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will be taught the more complex structures of Spanish grammar such as the subjunctive mode in the present and past tense, and the perfect past tense. Their vocabulary will be enriched with specific terms according to the themes developed in this course.

Advanced 3

This level is designed for students who have completed Advanced 2 or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will be taught a deeper understanding of the more complex structures of Spanish grammar such as the perfect future tense, the imperative mode. Their fluency will be enriched by learning to connect ideas together, sharing stories and expressing opinions.

Beginners A

This level is designed for students who are studying Spanish for the first time. This twice a week course will help you create a solid foundation in Spanish, providing the stepping stones of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and every-day usage. By the end of this course, students will feel comfortable asking and answering simple questions, expressing their feelings, and hold simple conversations in present tense.

Beginners B

This level is designed for students who have completed beginner A twice a week or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will continue to build their oral, written and listening skills while expanding their vocabulary and developing more confidence and fluency. By the end of the course students will have a strong vocabulary foundation, a solid grammatical and contextual base, and will be able to communicate effectively in common situations using regular and irregular verbs in the present and progressive present tense, as well and the simple future tense.

Intermediate/Advanced Twice a Week – Upcoming Sessions

These courses combine a once a week comprehention course with a conversation class offered on a second weekly session. Students will have the opportunity to apply what they learn in the comprehensive class, and put into practice in a conversation session, allowing them to develop their listening and conversational skills.

Intermediate 1 + Conversation

Semi Intensive

Offered to students who are planning on traveling to Spanish speaking countries, wanting to progress at a rapid rate. The main objective of semi-intensive classes is to help you develop your communication skills for real life situations.

How often and for how long?

Classes are offered 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday for 1.5 hours each day for a total of 4 weeks.

How much do Semi-Intensive classes cost?

The fee for 4 weeks of intensive Spanish is $325(members) or $345 (non-members) which includes:

    What is the class content?

    We offer six levels of Semi-Intensive classes:

  • Each day our classes cover oral and written communication, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, with an emphasis in conversation.

    Beginner Semi-Intensive Ⅰ

    This level is designed for students who are studying Spanish for the first time. This course will help you create a solid foundation in Spanish through practical exercises, providing the stepping stones of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation in every-day usage. By the end of this course students will be able to introduce themselves, express their feelings, ask and answer simple questions, be comfortable with numbers, have basic survival skills for traveling situations (order at a restaurant, ask for directions etc.), holding simple conversations using regular and irregular verbs in the present and future tense.

    Beginner Semi-Intensive Ⅱ

    This 4-times-a-week level is designed for students who have completed Beginner Semi-Intensive Ⅰ or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will continue expanding their oral and listening skills while developing new vocabulary and grammar knowledge. Learning common irregular verbs in the present tense, the progressive present and simple past tenses, and new prepositions such as “Por and Para”.

    Intermediate Semi-Intensive Ⅰ

    This 4-times-a-week level is designed for students who have completed Beginner Semi-Intensive Ⅱ or the equivalent according to our placement test. In this course students will increase their ability to communicate through practice and repetition as well as expand their vocabulary and listening comprehension through reading and listening exercises. They will develop their conversation and pronunciation skills through dialogs, roll playing and will review the previously learned tenses in addition to new irregular verbs. They will also learn to use direct and indirect object pronouns to abbreviate phrases the way native speakers do.

    Intermediate Semi-Intensive Ⅱ

    This 4-times-a-week level is designed for students who have completed Intermediate Semi-Intensive Ⅰ or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will focus on conversation and further develop their reading and writing skills. By the end of this course students will be familiar with common reflexive verbs, the imperfect past tense and the future tense.

    Advanced Semi-Intensive ⅠⅠ

    This level is designed for students who have completed Intermediate Semi-Intensive Ⅱ or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will enhance their speaking fluidity by doing presentations and advance their reading comprehension by analysing newspaper articles. Their vocabulary and grammar knowledge will also expand as they learn the conditional and subjunctive tenses.

    Advanced Semi-Intensive Ⅱ

    This level is designed for students who have completed Intermediate Semi-Intensive Ⅰ or the equivalent according to our placement test. Students will practice their conversation using all tenses learned. They will keep on expanding their vocabulary while learning the more complex structures of Spanish grammar such as the pluperfect, and the imperative forms. Their conversation fluency will be enriched by discussing movies, books, news articles, sharing stories, and expressing their own opinions.

    Super-Intensive

    Offered to students who are planning on traveling to Spanish speaking countries or for those wanting to immerse themselves in the language and make progress at a rapid rate. The main objective of this class is to help you develop your communication skills for real life situations.

    How often and for how long?

    Classes are offered 4 days a week, Monday to Thursdays for 3 hours each day for a total of 4 weeks.

    What’s the class content?

    We offer three levels of Super-Intensive classes: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Each day our classes cover oral and written communication, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, with an emphasis on conversation.

    Beginner Super-Intensive

    This intensive level is designed for students who are studying Spanish for the first time. This course will help you create a solid foundation in Spanish through practice, repetition and extra exercises in class. It will provide the stepping stones of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and every-day usage. By the end of this course, students will have a strong vocabulary foundation and will be able to ask and answer simple questions, express their feelings and hold simple conversations using regular and irregular verbs in the present, progressive present and simple future tense.

    Intermediate Super-Intensive

    This course is designed for students who have completed Beginner Super-intensive or the equivalent according to our placement test. The emphasis of this course is to increase the student’s ability to communicate through practice and repetition. Students will focus on conversation and further develop their reading and writing skills. By the end of this course students will be able to communicate using the present tense, simple future tense, present-progressive tense and past tense. They will also learn reflexive verbs and the imperfect, conditional and future tenses.

    Advanced Super-Intensive

    Designed for students who have completed Intermediate Super Intensive or the equivalent according to our placement test, in this course students will practice their conversation and reading skills using all tenses learned. They will expand their vocabulary while mastering the structures of Spanish grammar with the subjunctive, the imperative, and the perfect tenses. Their fluency will be enriched by learning to connect phrases together, sharing stories, news articles and expressing opinions.

    How much do intensive classes cost?

    The fee for 4 weeks of intensive Spanish is $625 which includes:
